Abstract

The method for modeling of the flame surface in a closed cylindrical bomb is developed assuming preserving the spherical flame front at interactions with confined walls. Calculations are performed for ignition point located at the side and axial wall.
General expressions for flame surface taking into account the changing of flame shape and geometry of the bomb are deduced mathematically. Dependencies of the flame surface on time and flame radius are obtained. These expressions allow studying dynamic of heat release during combustion process.

Keywords

Flame surface, cylindrical bomb, flame radius
